Raksha Bandhan is a combination of two words i.e. Raksha and Bandhan. The meaning of Raksha is to protect and the meaning of Bandhan is Bond. Thus basically Raksha Bandhan is a bondage of love, affection and care. Raksha Bandhan which also known as Rakhi is prepared of some sacred thread with attractive and decorated colourful stones. On this occasion sisters tie Rakhi on the wrist of brothers and apply roli on the forehead of brother. Brother take vow to protect his sister for life then they exchange gifts also.
